Polonnaruwa docs TU action called off

The doctors at the Polonnaruwa General Hospital yesterday called off their trade union action over the occupation of a doctor’s rest room by a nursing officer.

They arrived at this decision following a meeting with Health Minister Maithreepala Sirisena yesterday.

Minister Sirisena held talks with the doctors and the nursing staff and decided to provide another room for nursing officers.

The nursing staff agreed to release the rest room in question to the doctors, at the meeting.
