No funeral orations

Minuwangoda Magistrate K K A V Swarnadhipathi has ordered to grant permission to hold the funeral of Ratnasekera Peragonsal Acharige Roshen Chanaka as a private funeral of his family.

The magistrate has further ordered to hold the funeral tomorrow only according to Catholic traditions on the decision of the parish priest and to bury the body at the Catholic cemetery after the Mass.

The magistrate has also ordered not to make any funeral speeches other than the speeches by the Roman Catholic priests at the funeral ceremony, and not to allow any speeches at the home of the deceased, in the Galoluwa Roman Catholic church or in the cemetery. However the vote of thanks can be delivered by a member of the family.
