Holcim FA Cup quarters from today

The Holcim FA Cup 2011 Soccer Championship has reached the quarter final stage and these are scheduled to commence today at the Police ground with kick off at 3.30 pm. each day. Earlier the quarter finals were to be played at the City Football Complex but due to the prevailing weather conditions the organizers had to shift the same to Police ground.

The Sri Lanka Navy the defending champions and the runners up last year too made their way to the quarters this year.

Navy defeated strong Saunders SC, while Nandimithra SC beat Matara SC to make their entry in to the quarters. Ratnams SC defeated Air Force and New Youngs SC from Wennappuwa ousted Renpown SC.

Blue Star SC beat Java Lane 1- 0 at Kalutara and in the other pre quarter final Sri Lanka Army out played Old Bens SC.

Don Bosco the Premier League Champions too entered the quarters beating Colombo FC on a tie breaker 4-2. SL Police beat SLCTB at Shalika grounds.

Quarter final line up is as follows all matches to be played at Police ground.

Thursday - Nandimithra SC vs Ratnam SC

Friday - SL Army SC vs New Young’s SC

Saturday - Blue Star SC vs SL Police SC

Sunday - SL Navy SC vs Don Bosco SC
