Akkaraipattu Muslim Central College celebrates Cultural Day

Akkaraipattu Muslim Central College (National School) Akkaraipattu celebrated its Annual Cultural Day 2011 on May 30, 2011.

The function held at the College Athaullah Auditorium under the patronage of Principal M I M Shahabdeen, Ministry of Education Secretary H M Gunasekara was the Chief Guest. Alhaj K Mohamed Thamby, Additional Secretary Education Services was the Guest of Honour. Zonal Director of Education Akkaraipattu Alhaj, M T A Thowfeek, A M Ahamed, Director, Value Education and N T Nasmudeen were the Special Guests.

Students staged many items reflecting the eastern culture. Education Secretary H M Gunasekera praised the Principal, students, the teachers who were instrumental for their hard work.

He pledged to build an IT Laboratory and a Language Lab in the college, under the 1000 School Development programme, the playground of the college is to be upgraded and two more sports, swimming and football are to be introduced to the students.

WESMI the parents body of the Bilingual Medium Students honoured the Education Secretary by draping him with a golden shawl and presenting him with a memento.

The Chief Guest and the guests planted trees in the college compound to mark the occasion.
