Three sessions on second day

The second day of three day international seminar Defeating Terrorism Sri Lankan Experience organized by the Sri Lanka Army was held successfully yesterday at the Galadari Hotel.

The second day consisted of three sessions and Major Generals Nandana Udawatta (Chairperson), Prasanna de Silva, Chagy Gallage, Jagath Dias, Shavendra Silva addressed the representatives of the 41 countries during the first session making them aware of how the operations in the North and East were fought by the Sri Lankan forces to retake the lands which were under LTTE occupation.

During the second session Force Multipliers in Counter Terrorism Major General (retd) G Hettiarachchi (Chairperson) Brigadiers N A Dharmaratne, I P Ranasinghe, N A P C Napagoda, L N Wickramasuriya, K R P Rowel, Commander N Rozairo of the Sri Lanka Navy, Air Vice Marshal K A Gunatilake of the Air Force addressed the gathering.

The third session was on Combat Service Support and Evolution of Training. The Chairperson was Major General Milinda Peiris. Brigadiers H D W Kariyawasam and T N Jayasuriya talked of Logistics support while Major General S H Munasinghe spoke of the medical support. Brigadier R A Nugera spoke of evolution of training.

Each session was followed by a panel discussion. A cultural evening was organized at the Mount Lavinia Hotel for the participants at 7 p.m.
