OASBT launches ‘Work IT’

The OpenArc School of Business and Technology (OASBT) recently launched ‘Work IT’, an information technology course for state and private sector employees. The basic aims of launching this new course are improving the information technology knowledge of the State and the private sector employees and present them with a valid certificate. After completing this course successfully, one can study for a degree in IT while working.

Speaking about this new IT course, OpenArc School of Business and Technology Managing Director Vijith Sinhabahu said, “Today, IT knowledge is essential to be successfully employed in the State or the private sector. But, most employees lack sufficient IT knowledge to be efficient in their employment. We introduced the “Work IT” course taking this situation into consideration. Other than the information technology field, other subjects essential for office work such as English and personality development are also covered in this course”.

The “Work IT” course covers subject components such as business English, work computing and information technology, easy mathematics and personality plus. Knowledge and training in these fields are essential for the State and private sector employees to continue in their various professions efficiently and successfully.

The ‘Work IT’ course is conducted according to student-centric practical teaching methodologies out of the traditional classroom education pattern. ‘Work IT’ is a six-month short-term course.

The course is conducted on weekday evenings and weekends.

Students can reserve a convenient time for practical training. The ‘Work IT’ course will be launched in the first week of June.

A nationally accepted certificate will be presented to those who complete the course successfully.

After that, any one out of those who received their certificates will get the opportunity to study for the BIT degree from a Sri Lankan University while being employed.
