Report not likely at HRC
The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
is unlikely to review, or hold discussions on the controversial
Darusman Report during its 17th regular session in Geneva from today
to June 17.

Drunk driver kills toddler
A seven month old infant was killed and his
brother, father and mother were seriously wounded when the
motorcycle on which they were travelling, collided with a van at
Aladeniya in the Katugastota area on May 28. The Police said the van
driver was under the influence of liquor at the time of the
accident.

RI, fine in drug cases
A trishaw driver who pleaded guilty to the
charge of possessing and trafficking heroin weighing not less than
one gram, was sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment and
fined Rs 25,000 in default another one year imprisonment.
