CSE daily turnover grows

The total daily turnover of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) during the first three months of this year has recorded a significant improvement with high levels of investor confidence.

The total turnover for the first three months has recorded a growth of 112.31 percent compared to last year's first quarter.

The total daily turnover during the first quarter of this year was Rs 188,698,057,676 and it was Rs 88,876,426,196 in last year first three months.

The performance of the CSE branches has also recorded a commendable performance.

The average daily turnover of Kandy recorded the highest average daily turnover with Rs 102.2 million while Matara branch recorded 71.4 million.

Negombo branch average daily turnover was Rs 70.6 million.

The average daily turnover of Kurunegala was Rs 40.8 million and Jaffna was Rs 4.2 million.
