Youth Parliament by-election today

The Youth Affairs and Skills Development Ministry and the National Youth Services Council will hold the by-election for the Youth Parliament today.

Ministry Secretary S.S. Hewapathirana who is also the returning officer to the by-election, said that voting will commence at 7.00 a.m. and end at 4.00 p.m.

The by-election is being held to elect new representatives for vacancies created following the removal of elected representatives from the Youth Parliament.

By-elections will be held in 22 of the 48 Divisional Secretariats. The by-elections for the Divisional Secretariats of the Matara District will be held on May 28.
