Religious, cultural procession in Matara

The government has organised a religious and cultural procession for
7 pm today in Matara to mark the 2600th Sambuddhatva Jayanthi.
Buddhist Affairs Commissioner General Chandraprema Gamage said this
programme will make people more aware of the Sambuddhatva Jayanthi.
The programme will commence at the Matara Bodhi premises with the
participation of the Maha Sangha.
Prime Minister D M Jayaratne, Ministers, MPs, Provincial Councillors
and Pradeshiya Sabha members will participate.
The government has organized a religious and cultural procession in
Matara today at 7.00 pm to mark the 2600 Sambuddhatva Jayanthi. A number
of elephants and cultural dancing troupes will also be featured in this
event. |
