Public sector vacancies in N/E to be filled by year's end

The government will recruit officials for the existing vacancies in
the public sector in the Northern and Eastern Province by the end of
this year, said Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W D J
Seneviratne.
The minister said the government will provide all facilities to the
North and the East.
Speaking at the opening of Walikamam South Divisional Secretariat in
Uduvil, the minister added that Rs 212 million has been allocated for
the development of all administrative institutes in the North and the
East.
Minister Seneviratne said that 25 persons were posted to government
offices in the Northern Province.
"We are providing special training for these officials. It will help
develop langauge proficiency as well," the minister said.
According to the Mahinda Chintana Future Vision programme, there is a
goal to build a one nation.
Minister Seneviratne made an official visit to inspect Nallur
Divisional Secretarial and other Administrative institutes yesterday and
discussed several matters in administration with the heads and the other
officials of those institutes.
A special religious festival was also held at Nagadeepaya under the
patronage of the minister to mark the 2600th Sambuddhatva Jayanthi and
to invoke blessings to soldiers and other persons who died in the war. A
religious ceremony was also held at Naga Pushi Amman Kovil.
Traditional Industrial and Small Enterprises Minister Douglas
Devananda, Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry Secretary P B
Abeykoon, Jaffna District Secretary Imelda Sukumar and a large number of
Ministry officials and officials from Jaffna District's administrative
institutes also participated. |
