A Buddhist delegation from the People's Republic of China led by Ven Shi Guang Quan Thera, consisting of officials of the State Administration for Religious Affairs and Buddhist Association of China participated in a ceremony organized by the Sri Lanka China Friendship Association to distribute exercise books among Dhamma schoolchildren to mark the 2600th Sambuddhatva Jayanthi celebrations held at Mahaweli Centre Colombo 7.

Most Ven Shi Guang Quan is the chief incumbent of Lingyin Temple of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province of China.

Most Ven Madulawawe Sobhitha Thera, Most Ven Banagala Upatissa Thera and several leading Buddhist prelates participated. Colombo District parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala, Western Provincial Counsellor Harshana Rajakaruna, All Ceylon Buddhist Congress President Jagath Sumathipala and People's Republic of China Embassy First Secretary Sheng Ming also participated.
