Symphony for a Child

14th Annual fundraiser to be held in Sri Lanka:

The AIDS Foundation of Lanka (AFL) and the Educate a Child Trust (EACT) have organized a fund raising charity concert, 'Symphony for a Child', to be held today (May 20) at Ananda College Kularatne Hall from 7.30 pm.

"Some of the best known artists and musicians of Sri Lanka, as well as one or two from abroad have generously agreed to support our cause by agreeing to perform without any remuneration at all", EACT Founder and Chairperson Dr. Pramilla Senanayake and AFL Chairman Dr Palitha Abeykoon said addressing the joint media briefing held in this connection.

The much sought after 'Symphony for a Child' concert, which is the brainchild of former Sri Lankan concert pianist and music teacher, Srima Jayasekera who lives in the UK, will be held in Sri Lanka for the first time. A host of reputed artistes including the Lanerolle Brothers, Voiceprint, Ananda Dabare, Ricky Bahar, Shyanne Bahar, Suleetha Nanayakkara, Thilanka Jayamanne and several others will perform free of charge in aid of these two very worthy charities.

The box plan and tickets will be available at the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA), 6 Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07.
