Prabadhi clinch U-10 title at SSC Open

Prabadhi Perera won the under-10 girls singles championship by
defeating Nimmi Bernadette 9/6 in the final match at the Sinhalese
Sports Club (SSC) Open Tennis Championships continued at Maitland Place.
Meanwhile Aritha Weerasinghe and Eroo Samarasinghe will battle for
the under-16 boys singles title.
Aritha comfortably beat Sanjiv Mohankumar 6/4, 6/2 in the first
semifinal while Eroo outpointed Avishka Perera 6/2,6/4 in the other
semifinal match to step into the finals.
The first under-12 girl’s semi final match between Asalya Bandara and
Umeshi Ranaweera went into a three setter.
Umeshi won the first set in a tie-break 7/6(4) but failed to maintain
the lead. Asalya dominated in the following two sets 6/4, 6/1 and
qualified for the finals. Asalya will compete with Medhira Samarasinghe
who beat Shenelle Abeysekara 6/1,6/0 in the other semifinal match.

Under-14 girls singles semifinals: Chalani Gunathilake beat Tasha
