NITF Chairman Senaka D Abeygoonasekera said an MoU pertaining to the hospital projects will be signed between NITF and the Health Ministry next month. All three national hospitals to be built shortly will consist paying wards.

State Engineering Corporation will undertake the construction of three hospitals. The Government will be providing the land. Maintenance of these hospitals will be handed over to the Health Ministry.

"NITF is also providing Rs 90 million per month to government servants for their medical needs. Many government servants are interested in obtaining medical facilities from private hospitals. Through these paying wards we expect to cater to the needs of government servants," Abeygoonasekera said.
