Pushpadana rout Swarnamali

Pushpadana Girls College swamped Swarnamali Balika Vidyalaya by 20 goals to nil in their Kandy District Schools Girls Under 19 Hockey Tournament match played at the University grounds, Peradeniya yesterday. At half time Pushpadana led 10-0. The matches will be continued today at 9 am.

Swarnamali BV who turned out to be the kids of the tournament lost their next match to St.Anthony's Balika Vidyalaya 0-16. Thus conceding 36 goals in two matches.

But later in the evening Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya beat St.Anthony's Balika Vidyalaya 2-0 to remain as top contenders for the championship title which eluded them last year. Goal scores for Seetha Devi BV were centre forward Wathsala Nirmali and left extreme Supun Gamage. Seetha Devi BV also beat the defending champions Pushpadana Girls College 1-0 in a thriller Wathsala Nirmali scored the winning goal.

In the tournament for boys Trinity College beat Vidyartha College 3-2. Dharmaraja College beat Sri Sumangala College 3-2.
