UNP Parliamentarians told:

‘work together with President’

Anunayaka of the Siyam Nikaya and Asgiri Chapter Ven Galagama Sri Atthadassi Thera told a group of UNP Parliamentarians that their duty should be to work together with President Mahinda Rajapaksa who deserves full honours for eliminating terrorism from the island in the most respectful way.

The UNP team included new UNP National organiser Ravi Karunanayake and other new appointees.

The Anunayake Thera said President Mahinda Rajapaksa was ruling the country in the best way and the duty of all should be to strengthen his hands.

The Thera said the President has ensured peace in the country, defeating terrorism which no other previous Head of State could accomplish.

The Anunayake Thera also told the UNP politicians to end their internal disputes in the party and build a strong Opposition.

The opposition members also called on Mahanayake of the Malwatte Chapter Ven Tibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thera after worshipping the Sacred Tooth Relic.
