Operations of the Yal Devi will be extended upto Omanthai railway station, the next station from Thandikulam railway station towards Kankesanthurei from May 27, with the completion of the restoration of rail track, railway station and the signal system.

Sri Lanka Railways Deputy Chief Engineer, V. Amarathunga said that the newly built Omanthai railway station on the Colombo-Kankesanthurai Northern line extended from Thandikulam to Omanthai will be declared open by Transport Minister Kumara Welgama.
