A container truck carrying a road roller along the
Hanwella-Kirindiwela Road crashed into a cab parked on the side of the
road around 10 pm on Wednesday, plunging both vehicles into the nearby
stream, killing all three passengers in the cab on the spot.
The driver and cleaner of the container truck who fled the scene
surrendered to the Negombo Police. The deceased were identified as K P
Seneviratne (45) of Habarakada, N P Lakshman Prematilleke (30) and A
Wijeratne (26).
Pugoda Magistrate and District Judge Kumari Abeyratne held the
magisterial inquiry yesterday morning. |
