Office space for Sports Associations
The Ministry of Sports expects to develop each and every sport in the
country and form a common sports culture under National policy to
develop sports in the country. To achieve this Ministry of Sports has
advised to provide office space at Kettarama to all Sports Associations
that do not currently have an office space for them to conduct their
activities.
With proper communication between the Ministry and the Sports
Associations, national sports in the country can be nourished. If this
is successful, it will be possible to bring talented youth from the
rural areas to the national level and to develop them to reach the
international arena, to represent the country.
Though 52 Sports Associations have been established in the country,
most of them do not have a permanent office space. The lack of an office
space has become a hindrance to these associations to carry out their
activities smoothly. Therefore, the Ministry of Sports has decided to
provide permanent office space to these Sports Associations, so that
they can carry out their correspondence can be carried out efficiently.
Further, the Ministry states that steps will be taken to provide
necessary assistance to those who do not have the facilities to create a
website of their own and to provide them with the technical know how for
this purpose.
Steps will also be taken to educate the public on all Sports via
internet. Furthermore, arrangements will be made to link all websites of
the Associations to the Sports Ministry website, so that all information
can be accessed from one central point.
