Ind-Expo holds training programme

Ind-Expo Certification Pvt Ltd conducted a training programme to a
large number of representatives of hotels in Colombo recently on how to
provide safer food. It was done in collaboration with the Colombo
Municipal Council for food catering establishments in the city of
Colombo. This was revealed by the Ind-Expo Certification Chairman A K
Ratnarajah.
He also mentioned that this confirms that there is now a greater
interest among the hotels in Colombo to operate hygienically with
emphasis on hygienically prepared food being offered to their customers
which is very encouraging.
Ind-Expo Certification Pvt Ltd launched a project to encourage the
upgrading of food storage, food preparation and food supplying in
organizations such as hotels, restaurants, bakeries and super markets
that are engaged in supplying food to the public.
This project, aimed at improving the cleanliness, the hygiene and the
taste of the food the public buy, is named the "Crowns for Food Hygiene"
project.
Any food supply organization such as hotels, restaurants, bakeries,
super markets, eating houses, tea boutiques and mobile food supply
services that has obtained the permission from their respective
Pradesheeya Sabhas can participate in this "Crowns for Food Hygiene"
project. By participating in this project, the relevant organizations
will get the advantages such as being able to supply clean, hygienically
prepared, tasty food to their customers and attract more customers to
their establishments.
The companies participating this project will get a good reputation
and social acceptance of the standard of their establishments.
When an organization joins the "Crowns for Food Hygiene" programme,
Ind-Expo Certification Company launches a methodical investigation of
the food storage, preparation and supply adhering to internationally
accepted standards.
Then, that organization will be certified Excellent (5 Crowns), Very
Good (4 Crowns), Good (3 Crowns), Fair (2 Crowns) and Poor (1 Crown).
