Women farmers from the North

CIC Agri Businesses continues to provide formal and informal training to hundreds of farmers islandwide in their farms located at Hingurakgoda, Pelwehera and Talawa.

Recently a group of farmers from the Killinochchi and Mullaitivu comprising only females visited the CIC seed farm Hingurakgoda for a training programme.

The group comprising around twenty females who have been resettled in the North had a first hand look at some of the latest techniques adapted and practised at the CIC Farm. The group which was very keen to acquire knowledge on different aspects of agriculture showed great interest and enthusiasm as they were briefed by the Officers of the CIC seed farm. These farmers have already been allocated land in Killinochchi and Mullaitivu and are looking forward to carry out their cultivation soon.
