Woman's body recovered from well

The body of an 85-year-old woman of Kali Kovil, Kayts was recovered on April 27 from an abandoned well with stones attached to her hip and neck as weights to keep her body at the bottom of the well.

The Kayts Magistrate visited the scene and held the magisterial inquiry. Magistrate Joy Mahil Mahadeva ordered that the body be sent for a postmortem examination. The woman's ear and nose studs remained intact.

These findings rule out the suspicion that she would have been murdered to rob. Kayts police are investigating.
