Textured Jersey Lanka, Avissawella Plant emerged men's volleyball
champions when they beat Brandix Intimate Apparel, Minuwangoda while
Brandix Intimate Apparel, Mirigama overcame Brandix Denim Plant,
Avissawella to become the women's champions in their inter-plant Brandix
Rasadiya Trophy - 2011 Volleyball Tournament which was worked off at the
National Youth Centre, Maharagama recently.
The tournament was held with the participation of 33 men and 28 women
teams. Sujeewa Prasad of Textured Jersey Lanka was awarded the Best
Attacker and H N Ruwanthi of Brandix Denim Plant, Avissawella was the
Best Attacker in the women category. Indika Tharanga of Textured Jersey
Lanka was adjudged as the Most Valuable Player while Shanika Nadeeshani
won the Most Valuable Player award in the women's.
Y H P Viraj and Achini Nisansala of Brandix Intimate Apparel were
adjudged the Best Defenders in each category while Buddika Tharangani of
the same plant received the Best Setter award. Textured Jersey Lanka won
another award when Suresh Weragala was presented with the Best Setter
award.
The award ceremony was held at the end of the finals at the same
venue in the presence of Brandix Group officials. |
