NYSC cycle tour begins on May 20

To coincide with the National Youth Sports Festival the National Youth Services Council has organized a friendship cycle tour from Batticaloa to Matara via Ampara, Monaragala, Hambantota.

The cycle tour is scheduled to start from Batticaloa on May 20 and the tour will end on May 23 at Matara town. Sinhala, Tamil, Musllims, Burgher and Malay youth will take part in the cycle tour. The specialty of the cycle tour is that the organizers had decided to conduct the cycle tour for youth from all communities.

The cyclists will rest at Ampara on May 20, Moneragala on May 21 Hambantota on May 22 and the tour will end on May 23 and the concluding ceremony will be on May 23 at Matara Town.

The specialty of this friendship cycle tour is that youth from all ethnic groups, religious groups and language groups will take part in the tour.

This is the national event of the National Youth Sports Festival 2011 scheduled to be held on Dikwella on October 29 and 30, 2011.
