The oldest schools rugby fixture between Kingswood College and
Trinity College which was scheduled to be played at the Trinity College
Rugby Stadium in Pallekelle on Sunday has been put off by a day as this
falls on Easter day. This match will be now played on April 25 (Monday)
at the same venue.
Trinity College will be coached this year by former Sri Lanka, Kandy
SC and Navy utility player Nilufer Ibrahim. They have played two matches
and won both. They beat St. Anthony's College 10-3 and in their next
match cut loose to trounce St. Thomas College Mount Lavinia 75-6 in
their encounter for the Canon R.S. de Saram Trophy.
The Kingswoodians on the other hand too have a new coach in former
Sri Lanka, Kandy SC and CR and FC full back and ace place kicker Nalaka
Weerakkody.
In their opening match they trounced Thurstan College 69-5 and later
beat their traditional rivals Dharmaraja College 19-5 to retain the
William Weerasinghe Memorial Trophy. |
