Use water sparingly, urges Board
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB) says that it
cannot ensure the uninterrupted supply of water to the Anuradhapura area
and has appealed to all residents and consumers to use drinking water
sparingly.
The drawbacks of supplying water to the Anuradhapura area have
resulted from the inability of pumping water to the city due to repeated
power failures which have been caused by the breakdown of power lines
following torrential rains and with trees and branches falling on power
lines, a media release from NWS&DB said yesterday. |
