Romesh Abeyratne wins Captain's Cup

Unprecedented crowd of golfers participated during the weekend at the country's most celebrated golf links of Nuwara Eliya. It was a most spectacular event of golf that was witnessed by both locals and foreigners here.

The Captain's Cup was won by Romesh Abeyratne with a nett 64 points, while the Runner up was M. Mannemperuma with a nett 66 points.

The President's Cup was won by Dr. Janaka Galangoda with a nett 71 points, and the Runner up was P. Hapugalla with a nett 71 points.

The Keith Rollo Gold Cup was won by Maj. Gen. S. Rajapakse with 37 points. The Runner up was Sunil Udalagama with 35 points.

The Ogivy Cup winner was Sunil Udalagama with 72 points, the Runner up was P. Hapugalla 36 points, the first nine hole winner was Dr. Janaka Galangoda with 36 points, the 2nd nine hole winner was Maj. Gen. S. Rajapakse with 41 points. A. R. Aitkinsa Cup was won by R. Abeyratne, the Runner up was Dr. Janaka Galangoda. First day best was R. Abeyratne, the 2nd day 1st was Dr. Janaka Galangoda.

The awards were distributed by the President of the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club Umesh de Silva and his wife Swarnamali de Silva.
