Sandakada Pahana Abiyasa
Sunil Edirisinghe the veteran vocalist recently released some of his
melodious tunes to a DVD disk. The DVD will bring his Sandkada Pahana
Abiyasa musical concert to your living room. It was for the first time
in his grand musical career that Edirisinghe launched a DVD.
Through his rich collection of songs, Edirisinghe expects to tackle
the commercialized modern pop culture which has tainted the art of
classical music. Speaking at the launch ceremony of the DVD Edirisinghe
said:
“Some songs released these days have no artistic value. They don’t
even they give offer any wisdom to the listener. This is a grave tragedy
indeed.”
The DVD features some of his most memorable melodies such as Pana
Mada Kadithi, Issara Man Giya, Pinibara Yaame, Malliye Naraka Mithuran,
Maa ithin Yanna Yanava and Sandakada Pahanaka.
Pihatu Panata
The crowned princess of Derana Dreamstar, Upeka Nirmani, recently
launched her first ever music album. The album titled Pihatu Panata
feature a refreshing and melodious collection of songs filled with
youthful exuberance.
The album brings a nice collection of songs varying from slow moving
romance to fast moving and uplifting beats. Many known figures of music
industry such as Kalum Srimal, Nandana Wickramage, Laksiri Gmage,
Wasantha Dukgannarala, Athula Adikari and Navarathne Gamage have
contributed to make it an album with great variety.
Tharu Pahan Vee
Visharada Suranji Shayamali, the winner of the Thurunu Shakthi
musical extravaganza from Western Province in 2000, recently launched
her first ever music album titled Tharu Pahan Vee. Though not known to
many, she has already given her melodious contribution to some memorable
teledrama theme songs of our times.
A special degree graduate on Hindi language from Kelaniya University,
Suranji has also given her vocal contribution to Dayarathna Ratagedara’s
Nil Diya Yahana and Sunil T Fernando’s Nidi Yahana Kelambei. Known
figures such as Sunil Sarath Perera, Ravi Siriwardana, Yamuna Malini
Perera, Bandula Nanayakkarawasam, Sunil R Gamage, Navarathne Gamage,
Bandula Wijeweera and Dayan Vitharana have contributed to her album. |
