Abhimansala opening next month

Abhimansala - the Wellness Resort, a facilitating centre for disabled war heroes will open next month, Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya said.

The first Abhimansala which facilitates 52 permanently disabled war heroes is being constructed in the Nuwara Wewa area, Anuradhapura. Construction which commenced May 15, last year is nearing completion.

Several more Abhimansala wellness resorts will be constructed in due course in several parts of the country for the betterment of around 275 permanently disabled war heroes.

Abhimansala will provide the permanently disabled war heroes with facilities such as care, medical treatment, counselling etc to add value for their sacrifice to the motherland.

The Army Commander during an inspection tour of the Abhimansala in Anuradhapura, said that it is a part of the Army's welfare activities. The Army is keen to assist war heroes, especially those who are permanently disabled by providing them all faciliies," he said.
