FCCISL, China Council to promote bilateral trade

visited Federation of Chambers of Commerce and
Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) on Monday, April 4. Established in
September 1993, Shanghai Pudong Sub-Council is one of China Councils for
the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). The CCPIT aims at
promoting activities of trade, investment and cooperation in economy and
technology between china and other countries and regions all over the
world, so as to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between
Chinese and people from other countries and regions as well as economic
and trade circles.
The delegation which comprised 10 members represented manufacturing
and marketing of furniture, glassware, LAD chips, wedding dresses and
automobile industries and was headed by Chairman of CCPIT Chen Bing Hui.
The delegation made fruitful discussions with President, Board members
and senior officials of FCCISL President Tissa Jayaweera.
During the discussion, interest was shown in investing in Sri Lanka,
and Jayaweera explained current opportunities in the country with a
specifically emphasis on booming industries, market forces and labour
market standards. A Cooperation Agreement was signed by the FCCISL
President and CCPIT Chairman in order to facilitate trade promotions
between the two countries. |
