Blessings to gain WC

The Most Ven Udugama Sri Buddharakkhitha Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter said he would invoke blessings on the Sri Lanka team to enable it win the ICC World Cup at today's final in India. Looking at the team spirit shown by the Sri Lanka team at previous matches winning the cup will not be a difficulty.

Although sports was taboo for the Maha Sangha they all wished the Sri Lanka team well and would hope and pray that the team will capture the ICC cup without difficulty. Meanwhile The Kandy Municipal Council yesterday unanimously adopted a resolution extending its good wishes to the Sri Lankan cricket team in its endeavour to win the ICC World Cup at the final game with India to be held at Mumbai today.
