Brazen Palace to be renovated

Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister Mervyn Silva stated that
he would give Rs 10 million to renovate the Brazen Palace in the
Anuradhapura sacred city.
The renovation will take place under the patronage of the Atamasthana
Chief Prelate Most Venerable Pallegama Sirinivasa Thera, he added.
The minister at an alms-giving to 500 Bhikkus on his birthday at the
Jaya Sri Maha Bodi recently said that it was time to renovate the nine
storied historical building so that the devotees could worship and visit
this treasure from the past for a long time to come.
He further noted that the renovation would be in memory of king
Dutugemunu and funds for this purpose were raised by various
well-wishers.
