Brazen Palace to be renovated

Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister Mervyn Silva stated that he would give Rs 10 million to renovate the Brazen Palace in the Anuradhapura sacred city.

The renovation will take place under the patronage of the Atamasthana Chief Prelate Most Venerable Pallegama Sirinivasa Thera, he added.

The minister at an alms-giving to 500 Bhikkus on his birthday at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodi recently said that it was time to renovate the nine storied historical building so that the devotees could worship and visit this treasure from the past for a long time to come.

He further noted that the renovation would be in memory of king Dutugemunu and funds for this purpose were raised by various well-wishers.
