Youth injured in shooting

A 26-year-old youth was injured and admitted to the Galewela Hospital on Wednesday night, following a shooting incident at Pattiwela in Galewela.

The victim Priyantha Wijetillake, had been later transferred to the Kurunegala Hospital in a critical condition.

Two women including the victim's sister were injured and admitted to the Galewela Hospital after being attacked with a butt end of the gun by the person responsible for the shooting. Galewela Police investigating the shooting, have taken two suspects into custody in this connection.

They were due to be produced before the Dambulla Magistrate yesterday.
