SEC amends CDS clearing fee

Maximum charge of Rs 500,000:

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) has amended the fee for the clearing functions provided by the Central Depository Systems (Pvt) Ltd (CDS) as per the Listing Rule No 10.4. Accordingly there will be a Rs 15 charge per transaction executed on the Automated Trading System subjected to a minimum charge of Rs 10,000 and a maximum charge of Rs 500,000 per annum.

Net profit tops Rs 669 million in 2010:

The Singer Group passed a financial milestone in 2010 by recording Rs 16 billion in net revenue, which was the highest ever in the organization’s history, representing a growth of 34.5 percent over the previous year.

HSBC secures Best Sri Lanka Deal 2010 for sovereign bond

HSBC consecutively won three Bond mandates by the Government of Sri Lanka starting with its inaugural issue in 2007 and subsequently in 2009 and 2010. The most recent, 2010 issue was a landmark transaction in being Sri Lanka’s first USD one billion issue which saw a record subscription at a price of 6.25 percent for 10 year funds.
