Creative inspiration

Everything was ready for that public speech.

The audience was fully packed. The speech was on 'creative inspiration'. The moderator gave a short introduction of the speaker and led him to the lectern. At the lectern the speaker's eyes roamed in the audience.

He kept on staring into the audience that way for a few seconds.

Smiling, the speaker's gaze was still fixed on the audience.

Audience grew reckless when one minute became two minutes and so on. They looked at the speaker as if for a cue. But his face didn't betray any expression. Whispers and murmuring became louder. Some in the back were aching to give a hooting. One actually stood up to come forward to protest. That's when the speaker cleared his throat.

That echoed in the hall, and the audience suddenly went silent. The speaker spoke up, finally:

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm glad you've given me this opportunity. This audience now knows what creative inspiration is. Thank you for listening."

Saying so, the speaker stepped down from the lectern. [email protected]
