New model English Diploma course from ESOFT

The largest computer education institution in Sri Lanka offering the most number of computer and information technology programs under one roof at very competitive rates, ESOFT, is launching a modern English Diploma course, aimed at everyone who is interested in learning English. This English Diploma course can be followed at any of the 27 ESOFT branches located Islandwide.

Speaking of this English Diploma program, ESOFT Computer Studies, Managing Director Dr Dayan Rajapaksa said eventhough there are so many English language courses in Sri Lanka, the English knowledge a student obtains from following those courses is not sufficient for them to learn in the English medium, to sit for an examination, to face an interview successfully and to work in the English medium at the work place.

"So, this English Diploma course was introduced after conducting an in-depth study, getting a panel of experts to prepare an English course, preparing the textbooks to be used in the course and selecting a suitable teaching staff and training them," Dr Rajapaksa said. The specialty of this English Diploma course introduced by ESOFT is that, other than the traditional classroom lectures, students are divided into small groups and provided with the opportunity to engage in practical activities, encouraging them in the practical use of the English language.

The duration of this course, covering grammar, speech and comprehension, is six months. The course is conducted on week days and week ends. The students who complete the course successfully and pass the examination that will be held at the conclusion of the course will be awarded a Diploma certificate. The students who are following other IT courses at the ESOFT will be offered a special discount of 50 percent for this English Diploma course. The textbooks necessary for the courses will be provided free and new students are recruited once every two months. There are 27 branches of ESOFT Computer Studies Pvt Ltd located all over the island, and they are equipped with an atmosphere conducive to learning, with air-conditioned lecture rooms and library facilities. www.esoft.lk is their internet web site.
