Uvindu ILLEPERUMA
Different characters have different colours due to the way they make
abreast with the society. Anyway we all are born clean without any
colour.

It is with this idea that the teledrama Charithayakata Pata Denna
comes to the screen. This teledrama is directed by Dhammika Peiris.
The story is woven around a family of a film director. He is Jayantha
Kotuwella. His marriage with Dinu on the basis of a proposal is no
success. Jayantha is only interested in his creations and the way
Jayantha leads the life is not the way Dinu wants her life to be. Though
there is a clash characteristically between them the only bond making
factor between the two is their little daughter Nethali.
Meanwhile the intrusion of Minister Methsiri Kariyawasam to the life
of Dinu and Jayantha becomes one turning point in the teledrama. Dine
and the minister meet on the reason that they had a business dealing
first. Methsiri is livelier than Jayantha in person. Dinu who is weary
with the acrid way Dinu lives falls in love with the minister.
Ultimately Dinu-Jayantha combination shatters. With little Nethali Dinu
starts living together with the minister.
But the drastic past of the minister again begins haunting him. He
was a married man and a father of two children. Meanwhile a terrorist
group is planning to kill the minister over a grudge following a long
period of time. With these developments Dinu who tries to take refuge in
Minister Methsiri is put in great turmoil. Dinu begins the affair with
Themiya who is a well known actor having had of life with minister
Methsiri. Eventually Dinu finds that she is being duped by Themiya who
took a different sort of a decision to face the future to come.
In this line the story brings the society a great message of the
differently coloured characters which cannot be identified at the first
glance. On the other hand if a character is blackened it is very
difficult to whiten it because the past is more effective on a character
than the present stature of it.
