Sanctions foster Iran’s progress
IRAN: The sanctions imposed on the country have only expedited
the nation’s development and progress and strengthened national
solidarity.
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told The Business Year
publication that the Iranian nation has stood up to all threats and
sanctions, and overcome all “hurdles” to safeguard its dignity and
independence.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has cordial and brotherly relations
with most governments and nations across the world, has always insisted
on promotion of ties based on justice, mutual respect, friendship and
brotherhood, has stood up to international acquisitiveness and
expansionism, and spoken out against aggression, occupation and
violation of nations’ rights,” President Ahmadinejad added.
He also said expansion of relations, especially economic ties, among
Asian nations will serve their mutual interests as “their destinies are
intertwined and the progress of every single one of them is regarded as
the progress of the others.”
The president underlined all Asian countries are opposed to
expansionism, acquisitiveness, insecurity, war and terrorism.
