IRB donates £40,000

The International Rugby Board (IRB) has released a grant of 40,000
sterling pounds to the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU). According
to the SLRFU treasurer Kiran Atapattu, the money will be utilized to the
Provincial Unions to develop rugby in the rural areas which would help
to recognize outstanding players and bring them to the National level.
The IRB has agreed to grant 170,000 pounds to the Sri Lanka Rugby
Development Program in 2011. It included the money they approved and
held back in 2009 and 2010.
As the first part of IRB’s grant they provided this 40,000 pounds to
the SLRFU while the balance will be given before the end of the year. |
