Security beefed up for postal voting

Senior DIG Elections Gamini Navaratne said that a special security arrangement has been made to cover all centres where postal voting takes place. This security arrangement will be operative today and tomorrow.

He said action had been taken to ensure protection for election centres where problems might take place. Mobile security measures will also be implemented.

The Senior DIG said measures would be taken to implement election laws to the letter.

Action will be taken against any person who violates election laws, he added.
