Tamil National Alliance Jaffna District Parliament Member S Sri Dharan was fired at by an unknown gunman at Ulukkulama, Nochchiyagama yesterday but was unhurt.

Sri Dharan and four others were travelling in a van from Jaffna to Colombo to attend the Parliament session when an unidentified gunman fired at his vehicle and attacked it with a hand grenade around 5.15 pm.

The van was damaged by the gunfire and grenade explosion but nobody was hurt. Nochchiyagama police are investigating.
