Traffic jam, a blessing in disguise

A 13-year-old student of a leading boy's school in Kandy was injured and admitted to the Kandy Hospital when he fell off a van to escape from the clutches of his abductors' Tuesday.

OIC Kandy Police Children and Women's Bureau Chief Inspector A A Janaki Kumari said investigations revealed that a gang had abducted the boy while he was on his way back home after school.

The boy had managed to jump off the van when it got caught in a traffic jam at Suduhumpola in the Kandy-Colombo road.
