Book Review

Fictionalized magic

Most of us just need a tinge of magic to spice up and everything seems double the excitement. Magic is a form of entertainment as you all know, and with a little bit of practice, anyone could pull off a trick.

Patience, focus, constant vigilance and a little bit of drama on your own part are the key elements that make a successful magician. Strategically speaking, magic is an illusion.

It’s only what we see. But with what we know it could make a huge difference. But this is only innocent magic. What about black magic, the darker side of sorcery? What if witchcraft was real?

The physic book of Deliverance Dane is a fantastic novel written by Katherine Howe, who has focused the story entirely on witchcraft.

The author herself is a descendant of an accused Salem witch. The storyline revolves around a graduate student Connie.

Followed by an unexpected call from her mother, Connie is instructed to move into her grandmothers house, which had been abandoned for years, in order to refurnish it for sale. Reluctantly, Connie agrees, and little does she know that it would be the start of a wild and dangerous hunt for a woman named Deliverance Dane, a name which she finds hidden in the depths of her grandmother’s Bible.

The plot twists and turns and soon Connie must hurry to find an ancient shadow book, or in simple, a spell book. And it is only at the very last few minutes that Connie realizes that what she is up against is more than just dangerous, and it would be too late to turn back before a dreadful cure full fills its mission if Connie does not act immediately. -
