Mano brings Mr Donkey to stage

Veteran dramatist Jayalath Manoratne’s latest theatre production
Booruwa Mahaththaya will go on boards, at the Lumbini Theatre on March
11 and 12. Performances will follow at Elphinston Theatre and Bishop
College Auditorium on March 13 and 15 respectively.
Based on a novel Mr Donkey’s Autobiography of Indian writer Krishan
Chandar, translated into Sinhala from Urdu by Gunatilake Metiyagane, the
script has been written and directed by Jayalath Manaoratne. Mano says
that his newest production has been a script translated into various
languages in various parts of the world and acclaimed the popularity of
many audiences.
The play is a comedy with satire discussing contemporary social
disasters deeply. The cast includes, Jayalath Manoratne, Madhanee
Malwattage, Gihan Fernando, Ajith Lokuge, Sarath Chandrasiri, Jayantha
Muthuthanthri, Nimal Yatiwella, Malee Jayaweerage, Sujani Nishanka,
Nidheesha Sandamalee, Saman Lenin, Chamari Nisansala, Sashikala
Sadeepani and Wickrama Attanagama. Mano is supported by Swineetha Perera
in Costumes, Jagath Padmasiri in Make Up, Upali Herath in Décor, Pradeep
Muthukudaarachchi in Music Ranga Samarakoon in Lighting and Chandana
Nishantha Pieries in Stage Management. Susil Wickramasinghe is the
manager and organizer. |
