Rohan, Jaden win a double each

The Speed 2011 Championship round I was conducted at the Pannala track recently. This year the organizers Asian Motor Racing Club in association with Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club has introduced few more events for the day's program. The main event being the SL-GT cars 3500cc class.

This event saw all leading drivers in this class compete for supremacy. Former champion in this class Dinesh Deheragoda won the event ahead of Janaka Dias and Pasindu Peiris. It was the thrilling event for all spectators who thronged the track making it the highest attendance in Pannala.

It was also notable to see the two Gunewardena brothers Jaden and Aaron take honours in the 125cc class for under 16. Jaden also won the 125 standard modified class to win a double on the day.

Veteran Formula driver Rohan de Silva too won a double when he drove his Nissan March to victory in the one make category and later won the Formula 1600cc class.

Upulwan Serasinghe, Mahen Madugalle, K Parameswaran, Ashan Silva, Dinesh Jayawardene and U C Perera won their events in other categories.
