Army wins two mile sea swim

The 74 th annual Mount Lavinia two mile Sea Swimming was held
recently in Mount Lavinia. The Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union organized
the event in which 444 men and 70 women participated.
Royal College with 45 points won the men's team championship to win
the Mount Lavinia Hotel Challenge Cup by beating St Joseph's College
(42) while Killer Whale Aquatic Club was the second (32).
Dharmasoka College girls team emerged champions in the Sri Lanka
Chemical Industries Challenge Cup and Colombo Mayor's Challenge Cup when
(49) points, Killer Whale Aquatic (42) Mahamaya College with (30) were
the runners up.
Matthew Abeysinghe grabbed the Men's Individual Championship to go
with Tomlinson Challenge Cup and John Wilson Challenge Cup while
Sunethra Wijeratne became the winner of Dr. H T Anthonisz Challenge Cup
and Dennis Flamer Caldera Challenge Cup in the women's individual event.
Sri Lanka Army with the highest number of points (106) in the Inter
Service category went away with three trophies the Half Past Nine
Challenge Cup, SHM Dharmadasa Challenge Cup and the IDM Vantwest
Challenge Cup.
