Lankan junior girls on top

Sri Lankan Junior Girl's dominated the pre-qualifying round and entered the qualifying round at the World Junior Girl's Tennis Championships. They beat all three rivals Turkmenistan, Philippine and Hong Kong for 3-0 in the ties. The matches were played at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts from February 21 to 23.

Sri Lankan boy's team went to the top of the 'group-C' when they beat Turkmenistan for 2-1 in the Junior Davis Cup pre-qualifying tennis tie at the SLTA courts yesterday. They will play the pre-qualify final on Friday with the winners of the other semi final between Philippine and Syria which is to be worked off tomorrow. Local girls were knocked out of the FED Cup pre-qualifying round when they lost to Hong Kong team 3-0 today.
