Ex-combatants to push development

Five hundred and four male and female ex-combatants who passed the National Certificate at NVQ level two in masonry were awarded certificates and machinery kits by the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) recently.

Thousands of ex-combatants surrendered to the security forces were rehabilitated and given the opportunity to complete their primary, secondary education and vocational training by the Government.

The training program was initiated under the MoU signed by the NAITA which comes under the purview of the Youth Affairs and Skills Development Ministry with the Holcim Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
