S Raymond Silva whose poems appeared in Colour of my Dream an
anthology of poems published by ANCL was awarded Kala Bhooshana at a
special ceremony held at the John de Silva Memorial Theatre in Colombo
recentry. Silva started journalism in his early teens and became a
leading journalist within a short period. Later he wrote and published
novels titled Boodale Maraya, Ihiruna Kiri and Detu Samaththu and a
narative poem titled Iyaththuwa.
Some time ago in 1970 he was appointed the Ceylon Correspondent for
Star & Style the Mumbai based Film Magazin in which he published the
activities of local starts and film personalities.
S Raymond Silva is a Diploma Holder of Sri Jayawardanepura, Colombo,
Kelaniya and Open Universities for Journalism and English.
Presently he is practising as a Notary Public both in Sinhala and
English languages.
